Porter Street Residences is a new ground-up, 30-unit multi-family residential building. The building consists of a three story superstructure over a sub-grade parking area totaling approximately 43,000 sq. ft. The structural system is comprised of wood floor and roof joist framing supported on wood bearing walls above the ground level. The ground level framing over the sub-grade parking area utilizes structural steel beams, girders and columns supporting the wood-framed superstructure above. Lateral loads (wind and seismic forces) in both directions are resisted by the use of wood framed shear walls.
